A collegiate introduction to venture capital

This has been a week of reconnecting with academia and of “paying it forward.”  After my talk over the weekend at SCMLD, this morning found me addressing a room full of bright-eyed undergraduate students at HR College of Commerce near Churchgate in Mumbai.  As part of their “Corporate Dialogue” lecture series, I was invited by Dr. Indu Shahani, the Sheriff of Mumbai (who also happens to be the principal of HR College) to speak about venture capital, private equity, and entrepreneurship.

My extensive slide deck (over 45 slides) took me over 90 minutes to cover and it was very satisfying to interact with the students and I spent some more time afterward mentoring the more earnest among the audience.   I am including my slides here for the students to download and to share with a wider audience who may be interested in a practical introduction to the careers in finance and the world of entrepreneurial finance in a simplified form.

As always, viewing full-screen helps readability.
